Les Violettes returns to California Jazz Conservatory with a focus on songwriting in the Baroque period. For over 500 years songwriters have been writing about the same topics – love, loss, country, anger and devotion – and yet they continue to engage audiences on a personal level. Expect a fun night of Purcell, Dowland, Frescobaldi and Monteverdi songs, peppered with contemporary standards “a la Baroque” by Costello, McCartney and more.
