The Magnes Collection of Jewish Art and Life
In the last of the series, “Around Arthur Szyk,” Magnes Assistant Curator Shir Gal Kochavi will examine items from early twentieth century European collections that inspired Szyk’s celebrated creations. She will demonstrate how key Jewish visual elements such as the Lion of Judah and Noah’s dove, and Biblical phrases such as “the land of milk and honey” became recurrent themes in Szyk’s work.
